it's been a looong time!

I've been telling myself how disappointed I've been that I've let this blog slip away! Yes, it's been over a year with no updates. Sure, you've all gotten along okay, but I miss my creations and writing! In my defense, I've just been busy busy busy!

How can I sum up Sept. '09 to Feb. '11? I'm not sure that's possible! Best thing to do is say:
I am now an old and gray 31 year old, still babysitting and taking classes at IUPUI for English Education- and loving it!
Zach is still working at PittOhio as a semi driver. He's also still putting up with me, so that's wonderful!
Carter is now 8 and in the advanced 2nd grade classroom. (Yes, I'm a proud mommy!) He loves science, and still wants to be an architect.
Nathan is less than 2 months from turning 7 and in 1st grade. He doesn't have a favorite subject - but hates writing! He is still figuring out what he wants to do with his life! ;)
Lylah will be 5 in June and starting Kindergarten in the fall. (Don't remind me or I'll start crying...again!) She loves doing learning time at home with me, and has decided that she wants to work in a hospital. When I asked her what she wanted to do in a hospital, she said clean floors. Such high hopes! hehe!

So, that's all you get for the update! I don't have a ton of pictures on my laptop to share, and don't have time now to mess with much- but here are a few!
With love- until next time (which I promise will be more than 17 months later),
Dana

Brownies, Colt's game, dance class, bugs and more!

This is the last blog update with pics and I'm all caught up! (Wish I could say that about my scrapbooks!)

So, here are some random pictures from the last month!

Lylah really needed her hair trimmed, but I wasn't about to pay $20 at Cookie Cutters for her first haircut and picture. So, I did it myself. I set up a little salon station at the computer, complete with Dora on to keep her watching, occupied, and sitting still!

I don't even think I cut an inch off, but she was excited to get her hair cut anyway! And many times that's what it's all about!

These are from a Colt's pre-season game. My mom had tickets and invited me to go with her. It was my first time in Lucas Oil Stadium for a Colt's game. Pretty awesome!

Here's the snap:

And Manning throws it:

Man I love football!

I took this because I knew the boys would love it:

Making brownies with my girl!

Just one of the fun things Lylah and I do while the boys are at school! Playing pretend with her princess castle! We love it!

Reno keeping watch!

Dance class:

Nathan

Adam's wedding
Lylah was dancing the night away...

...before she got sleepy

Nathan goes non-stop!

Carter just being silly so I couldn't take a picture!

A couple from Mya's birthday party:

My nephew, Matthew (isn't he a chunk?!)

Finally, one of the reasons I like the cooler weather: the spiders come out to play!
I found this little guy in the basement on the sump pump pipe.

This is a picture of the preying mantis I found. Just before this picture she was eating her mating partner.

I have no idea what this thing is, but it was huge!

Okay, so now I'm all caught up! Hope you enjoyed the latest edition of pictures!

State Fair 2009

Here are some pictures from our annual trip to the State Fair!
Our first stop was at the Lego Land booths.

So, I know this picture of the boys doesn't look like their having fun at all, but they totally were concentrating on building! They didn't want to leave this section!

Lunchtime! Here are my kids stuffing their faces... literally!

Fun with balloons!

Petting the goats

Once Lylah realized they were going to try to take the food out of her hand, she could not get her hand back fast enough! She did not want them touching her! (kind of the whole point, but oh well!)

She liked the piglets though!

I think Daddy needs to work with Nathan on his putting skills!

Lylah and I 'planting' a garden.

I don't know why her skinny little butt won't stay in her pants!

Playing in the kitchen:

Hello baby calf! She was so cute! We got to see her learning to walk!

It started sprinkling, so we went under a tractor tent. The kids Loved that!

Next we played as farmers!
They picked apples:

Lylah tried to get hers right off the tree...

And milked a 'cow'

Later, we had some photo-ops at some activity tents:

We all had a great day!
