Lylah the Lean Green Machine - and Matthew the cutie!

I really think the green face sometimes fits Lylah and her little attitude perfectly!

Asleep at last...

These are some pictures I captured of Matthew smiling! He's such a cutie!

Easter

I realize I'm late getting these on here. (and- even worse that Lylah managed to post this before I was finished with it!) Sorry Mom, I know you and John were looking forward to seeing these pictures sooner! But- better late than never!

So the day before Easter Mamaw and Papaw invited all the grandkids over to see what the Easter Bunny had left for them. Boy was there a bunch!

We started our Easter celebration with an egg hunt in the back yard!
And... they're off!
Carter and Nathan started in the yard:

Lylah and Mya started up near the decks and in the flowers:

Come on... Jump... just a little higher!

Next, the kids headed in to count how many eggs they each had and to dig into some candy!! (The Easter Bunny gave them each a dollar in a special surprise egg!) See how stuffed Lylah's mouth is!

And... don't forget their Easter baskets!!

On Saturday night, we explained more the meaning of Easter and what a great gift God gave us by sending us Jesus to take our sins. We made Easter cookies that hollowed and cracked in the oven overnight to represent the empty tomb on Sunday morning. Every step and ingredient had a bible verse to read with it that told the story of Jesus' crucifixion and resurrection. The kids really enjoyed making them together. So... then the kids wanted to know how the Easter Bunny played into all of this! So, we told them that the Easter Bunny would only visit if they understood what this holiday was really about and appreciated it. They seemed to grasp as much as a 6, 5, and 2 year old can. The great significance I'm sure will come.

So- Here's what the generous Easter Bunny left for the kids on Easter morning.

Carter shared some eggs he found with Lylah!

They had so much fun finding the hidden eggs!

Our Easter picture (Who gave Carter gum?! He was trying to get a bubble blown in time for the picture! - And Lylah- well- she just didn't want her picture taken!) Oh well!

After church, which by the way, my brother and sister-in-law came with us to, (which made me Very happy! Thank you Pete and Carrie for coming!) we came home and had Zach's dad over to visit and eat. It was a great day!
